Justin Patin

I consider myself more of a painter of light than a photographer. My canvas is the darkness of night where I use an aerial light attached to a drone as a brush to paint in light and shadows. Photography is the medium I choose to create in. To categorize myself and my work in society’s world of art, you may place it and myself under night landscape photography.

In 2017 I graduated LSU with a BFA majoring in photography with minors in printmaking and art history. My undergrad thesis “Hidden Louisiana” was a part of the “Water Trails of the Atchafalaya” exhibit. This exhibit was displayed at the West Baton Rouge Museum, Manship Theatre Gallery, and the Wendell-Williams Aviation/Cypress Sawmill Museum. Rose One Studios was formed after leaving the umbrella of Academia so I may continue the pursuit of my goals and create work as a professional Artist. I’m currently represented at the Elizabethan Gallery where you can view my work in person. (680 Jefferson Hwy. Baton Rouge, LA 70806)

For the last fifteen years I’ve served in the Louisiana Army National Guard. I’ve served as an enlisted crewchief, and now pilot.

I’ve been deployed to support missions in the Middle East, humanitarian mission in Haiti, in addition to supporting the communities in the state of Louisiana in response to natural disasters.
